Housatonic Wire Co. v. Jerry Grozik, CV 11-6006938S 2013 WL 2383600 (Conn. Sup. Ct. May 14, 2013)
Judge Matasavage
This case involved a dispute over the value of real property that was destroyed in a fire caused by the negligence of the defendant. Biller, Sachs, Zito & LeMoult successfully argued that the fire on the property contaminated the remaining soil, which left the property with an environmental stigma, thereby reducing its market value. In this case, BSZL obtained a trial verdict of approximately $1 million after our client was initially offered nothing for his damages.
